Funny writers on funny writing

Earlier this year I participated in a seminar at U.C. Santa Barbara on comedy writing sponsored by the Carsey-Wolf Center. I spoke on a panel that included my partner, David Isaacs, Cheri & Bill Steinkellner, Jon Stark, and Janis Hirsch. Lots of good information and plenty of laughs. The session was recently made available on line and I thought you might enjoy it. Cheri is the moderator.

Great stuff. Inspiring. I love to hear about what process works (or not) for creatives.

Thanks for posting this; I've had a great afternoon enjoying these and I intend to watch some of the other videos from the center as well. Both entertaining and thought-provoking, I think the prospective writer will find stuff to improve their work.

Highly recommended.

Terrific stuff Ken. But, as a Friday question, I might ask what you might think was the one important thing that was left out of the discussion? And why did no one tell Jonathan Stark how great he was in Fright Night?

That was great! I'd love to see more videos of a team of professional writers coming up with ideas together. It's interesting to see how things are pitched and pieced together, even in an artificial environment like that.

I wish there were more.

Shame Janis Hirsh never told her It's Garry Shandling Show story, though. I'd love to have heard it!
